(1) Units comprising in-mold assembly LCA
The in-mold assembly LCAs are comprised of the following units.
a) | Linear motion unit (Up/Down direction) |
b) | Linear motion unit (Fore/Aft direction)![]() |
c) | Crimping/Swaging/Press unit |
d) | Positioning unit |
e) | Linear actuator |
f) | Posts |
(2) Linear motion unit (Fore/Aft) construction example
The fore/aft linear motion unit can be constructed as an application variation of up/down linear motion units. But since the fore/aft units typically are required to move the base plate surfaces, slide guides are more often used rather than linear bushings.
(1) A simplified press unit with slide guides/slide blocks
The following procedures are the notable points on the guide rail and slide block assembly and adjustments.
- | Locate one of the two guide rails as a datum guide rail (A). |
- | Adjust the air cylinder parallel to the datum guide rail and fix. |
- | Temporarily assemble the other guide rail (B) and the slide block (Loosely tighten the guide rails screws) |
- | Lightly press the guide rail (B) against the slide block, and tighten the screws of the guide rail (B) while observing that the slide block moves smoothly without any play. |
(2) Manual linear motion unit
