We continue on Swaging types and characteristics. The source of the figures is Assembly Element Technology Manual published by Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd.
1) Crush Swaging
Circumferences of round rods and tubes are partially crushed to achieve bonding. This is used on simple rotatable stopper pins, etc.

2) Tab Bonding
This is often used on bonding of bending formed plate parts. A tab formed on on one part is inserted in a slot of the other part, then the tab is (1) bent, (2) twisted, (3) crushed to form the bonds.

3) Lap Joint Bonding
The edges of thin plates or tubes are lapped and bent to form the bonds. The parts to be bonded are moved (rotation, slide) while a convex swaging head is pressed against them.
