(1) Units comprising in-mold assembly LCA

The in-mold assembly LCAs are comprised of the following units.

a)Linear motion unit (Up/Down direction)
b)Linear motion unit (Fore/Aft direction)
c)Crimping/Swaging/Press unit
d)Positioning unit←
e)Linear actuator
f)Posts

(2) Example of positioning unit construction

- In the case of in-mold assembly LCA, following three positioning units will be needed.
1) Workpiece positioning
2) Fore/Aft unit positioning
3) Up/Down unit positioning
-These three positioning units are selected based on load weight, accuracy, and concerns for scratches, etc.

(1) Basic type of positioning
-Anti-wear measures over long period of usage are important for the positioning system to prevent locating/positioning accuracy degradation.
-The positioning basic is a set of locating bushings and locating pins with anti-wear measures applied.

(2) Workpiece positioning and Up/Down direction positioning example

■Explanation
-Select the locating pins (JPS) and locating bushings to make the spacing between the fixture plates as designed.
-In this condition, the resin type locating pins (MJP) are to hold down the PCB at four corners.
-The PCB is position located with 3 locating pins.
-The additional work and inspection are applied through the opening located in the center of the top fixture plate.

(2) Linear motion unit (Fore/Aft) construction example

For fore/aft positioning, position adjustments may be required in order to make it compatible for multiple setups.
Here, mechanism examples of easy to adjust fore/aft direction positioning are introduced.

(a) Multi-setup compatible manual linear motion unit

For the position adjustment mechanism of a linear motion actuator that has moving locating blocks, an adjustment mechanism with a stopper adjustment screw is used.

(b) Multi-setup compatibility of locating carrier

For position adjustments of carriers and fixtures that do not have positioning actuators, the locating blocks are directly position adjusted by using adjusting bolts.
